polar zones are areas north of the arctic.
high latitudes areas north of the arctic circle and south of the antarctic circle
tropics areas between the tropic of cancer and tropic of Capricorn
low latitudes the sun is over head or nearly overhead all year long.
temperate zones they have a hot summer, a cold winter, and a moderate spring and fall.
middle latitudes are the areas between the high and low latitudes.
altitudes is above the sea level.
water cycle is the moment of water from earths surface
evaporation is the process in which a liquid turns into a gas.
inter tropical convergence zone is the area of rising air near the equator.
tornado a swirling funnel of win
tropical cyclone is an intense rain storm with strong winds.
hurricane is a cyclone that forms over the Atlantic
tropical wet climates combined hot temperatures.
tropical wet and dry are climates with a wet season
humid subtropical climates have year round precipitation with mild winters and hot summers.
maritime climates are wet year round, with mild winters and cool summers.
tundra climates have cool summers and bitterly cold dry winters
deciduous trees trees that lose their leaves in the fall
coniferous trees are trees that produce cones to carry seeds.
savanna is a park like land scape of grasslands with scattered trees that can survive dry spells.
ecosystem is a group of plant and animals that depend on each other to survive.
