How do you design an experiment? 2 groups are: controlled (variable is not changed; used for comparison) experimental (one variable is changed)
What are 2 types of variables? independent- what is changed in the experiment dependent- what changes due to the independent variable
What is a scientific method? a series of steps used to answer a question or solve a problem
What is a controlled experiment? test 1 variable at a time contains a control group. experimental group and a variable

What is a theory? explains why or how something happens
What is a law? a fact proven to be true
What is a qualitative measurement? uses a description, experiences, collect data in words or images
What is a quantitative measurement? real science that collects data in numbers; very exact
