geographer a geographer is someone who studies geography
latitude latitude is an imaginary line on earth that goes east to west and shows a locations distance from the equator
longitude longitude is an imaginary line in the that goes north to south and shows a locations distance from the prime meridian
absolute location the exact location of a place is its absolute location
relative location the location of a place in relation to other landmarks is its relative location
contiguous means to be touching or connected in a unbroken series
territory a territory is an area of land controlled by a nation
canyon deep valleys with steep sides
navigable wide or deep enough to allow the passage of ships
tributaries a tributary is a river that flows into another river
