Drop Arm Test tear/rupture of RTC P= sho passively ABD to 120d. Instruct to slowly lower. + unable to perform
Posterior internal impingement test impingement of RTC and Gtr tub or post glenoid and labrum P= Supine. sho 90d ABD, max ER, 15d HADD + pain in posterior sho
Clunk test glenoid labrum tear P= supine. sho full ABD. push humeral head anterior while ER + clunk
Anterior apprehension sign Hx of anterior sho d/l P= Supine. sho 90d ABD, slowly add ER. + apprehension
Posterior apprehension sign hx of posterior sho d/l P= Supine. sho ABD 90d in scapular plane. Posterior force thru elbow with simult IR/HADD + apprehension
AC shear test ACJ dysfunction P= clasp hands and place heel of one on scap spine, other on clavicle. Squeeze to compress ACJ + pain in ACJ
Adson's test thoracic inlet P: Sitting, find radial pulse. IL Cx rotation. EXT/ER sho with Cx EXT. + neuro/vascular symptoms
Costoclavicular syndrome test (military brace) thoracic inlet P= sitting. find radial pulse. move sho down & back + neuro/vascular symptoms
Wright hyperabduction test thoracic inlet P= sitting. find radial pulse. Sho max ABD/ER. deep breath, rotate Cx opp side. + neuro/vascular symptoms
Roos elevated arm test thoracic inlet P= standing. Sho ER, 90d ABD, sl HADD, elbows 90d FLEX. Pt opens/closes hands for 3min slowly + neuro/vascular symptoms
Elbow ligament instability Varus force + laxity in radial collateral. Valgus force + ulnar collateral. Elbow 0-20d flexion. Valgus/varus force
Tennis elbow test lateral epicondylitis + pain Elbow 90d flexion and supported. resist Wrist EXT/RD and forearm PRON with fist
Golfer's elbow test Medial epicondylitis + pain sitting with elbow 90d FLEX. Passively SUP, EXT elbow, EXT wrist.
tinel's Ulnar nerve irritation tap ulnar nerve at cubital tunnel
Pronator teres syndrome test median nerve entrapment in pronator teres Resist forearm PRON and elbow EXT simultaneously
Finkelstein's test DeQuervain's tenosynovitis of APL or EPB make fist with thumb inside, ulnar deviation
Bunnel-Littler test MCP structure tightness. Tight capsule - both parts. Tight intrinsic mm if less with MCP EXT MCP stabilized in sl EXT while PIP FLEX. Then MCP FLEX and PIP FLEX.
Froment's sign ulnar nerve dysfunction - weakness of ADD pollicis Pt grasps paper between 1st & 2nd digits. Pull paper out and watch for IP flexion of thumb.
Tinel's at wrist CT compression of median nerve tap CT
Phalen's CTS max FLEX both wrists x1min
Allen's test vascular compromise ID radial & ulnar arteries. Open/close fingers serveral times and then make fist. Occlude ulnar artery and open hand. observe for vascular filling. Repeat for radial
