Sound Terms for Physical Science

QuestionAnswer
Sound A wave created by a disturbance in a medium. It is a longitudinal wave that compresses and stretches the medium it travels through.
Frequency The number of waves that pass a point each second. Units: Hz or 1/s
Pitch The sound that our brain interprets from the frequency of a sound wave. High Frequency=High Pitch
