Problem Clarification | defines conflict areas and troublesome issues for the client. |
Goal Setting | Once a client has concrete problem definition, the therapist's goal is to help him or her recognize the problem withing a "bigger picture" so effective goals can be set. |
Experiential Exercise of Insight | focuses on ways the client can use and practice his or her new behaviors. It is only through practice that a behavior comes to feel comfortable for the client and a part of his/her behavioral repertoire. |
