Bacterial Gastritis (phlegmonous) | Inflammation of the stomach lining caused by a bacterial infection |
Chronic Atrophic Gastristis | Severe mucosal wasting that causes thinning and relative absence of mucosal folds in the stomach |
Chyme | Gastric Contents that have been mixed with hydrocholric acid and the proteolytic enzyme pepsin and it forms a white milky product |
Constipation | Extra water is absorbed from the fecal mass to produce harden stool |
Corrosive Gastritis | Inflammation of the stomach caused by corrasive agents |

Diarrhea | Results from increase motility of small bowel which floods the colon with an excessice amount of water that cannot be compelety absorbed |
Emulsifier | Subtance that acts like soap by dispersing the fat into very small droplets that permits it to mix with water |
Epiphrenic Diverticula | Outpouching found in the distal 10cm of the esophagus |
Glycogen | Stored excess glucose |
Infectious Gastristis | Inflammation of the stomach lining caused by a microorgansim |
Infiltrating | Spreading into surrounding tissue |
Imsulinoma | Hormone secreting neoplasm most greq. in the tail of the pancreas usually benign |
Irritable bowel syndrome | Refers to several conditions that have an alteration in intestinal motility |
Localized Ileus | Isolated distended loop of small or large bowel |
Mallory-Weiss Syndrome | Inflammation of the distal esophages due to lacertion assoc. with bleeding and mediastinal penetration most common with vomiting and retching |

Villi | Fingerlike projections of the small bowel to increase the inner suface area |
Zenker's Diverticula | Outpouching that arises from the posterior wall of the upper esophagus |
