TermDefinition
antagonist (n) A person who struggles or competes with another; the enemy of the protagonist.
antonym (n) A word having the opposite or nearly opposite meaning of another word.
character (n) 1. A person, usually in a work of art. 2. Qualities of honesty, courage, and goodness.
homonym (n) A word pronounced the same as another, but having different meaning; whether spelled the same way or not; also known as homophone and homograph.
narrator (n) The person who tells a story.
prefix (n) A part of a word placed at the front of a word to create new meaning.
protagonist (n) The lead character or hero in a work of art.
suffix (n) A part of a word placed at the end of a word to create new meaning.
synonym (n) A word having the same or nearly the same meaning as another.
translate (v) To change from one language to another.
