| emerged | appeared or came out from somewhere |
| equation | a statement in mathematics that shows that two amounts or totals are equal |
| established | already in use or existing for a long period of time |
| evaluation | a judgment about how good, useful, or successful something is |
| equivalent | having the same value, purpose, job etc as a person or thing of a different kind |
| exceed | to be more than a particular number or amount |
| explicit | expressed in a way that is very clear and direct |
| extract | formal to remove an object from somewhere, especially with difficulty |
| facilitate | to make it easier for a process or activity to happen |
| finite | having an end or a limit |
| fluctuations | a change in a price, amount, level etc |
| formula | a method or set of principles that you use to solve a problem or to make sure that something is successful |
| fundamental | relating to the most basic and important parts of something |
| guarantee | to promise to do something or to promise that something will happen |
| hierarchical | when people or things are divided into levels of importance |
| hypothesis | an idea that is suggested as an explanation for something, but that has not yet been proved to be true |
| implicit | suggested or understood without being stated directly |
| incentive | something that encourages you to work harder, start a new activity etc |
| inherent | something that is a natural part of another thing and cannot be separated from it |
| integrity | the quality of being honest and strong about what you believe to be right |
| invoked | when someone said that he/she is doing something because the law allows or forces him/her to |
