Write Narrative

Writing Narrative Key Vocabulary

TermDefinition
Coma Punctuation mark used to signal a pause in reading to separate to simple sentences or clauses.
Compound Sentence a sentence that contains two or more simple sentences, or main clauses.
Conclusion The end of a piece of writing in which the author restates his or her position and sums up the text's main points ( lesson 12).
Position the point of view that the writing decides to take after reading a text.
Response to Literature a type of writing in which the author states a position, or gives an opinion , about a story, play, or poem.
Text Evidence evidence found directly in the text that can be used to support claims made by the reader.
Transition a word or phrase that connects sentences, paragraphs, or ideas to help writing flow
Writing Prompt occasion demands the reader to quickly respond in writing, (which is a usually a higher level thinking question )
