| Electromagnetic Wave | a wave that can travel through empty space or matter |
| Radiant Energy | energy that is carried by electromagnetic waves |
| Radio Waves | The lowest frequency of all electromagnetic waves |
| Infra-red Waves | wavelengths between about one thousandths and 0.7 millionths of a meter |
| Visible Light | Electromagnetic waves you can detect with your eyes |
| Ultraviolet Radiation | Higher in frequency than visible light and has shorter Wavelengths between 0.4 millionths of a meter and about Ten Billionths of a meter |
| X-RAY | Ultraviolet waves that penetrate your skin |
| Gama Rays | have the hightest frequency and therefore carry the most energy |
| Carrier Waves | Radio Waves broadcast by a station at its assigned frequency |
