QuestionAnswer
What is thrust? The forward force produced by a planes engine.
What is a airfoil? it is a shape of the wing. The top has lower air pressure, but the air is moving faster. The bottom has higher air pressure, but the air is moving slower.
What is drag? The aerodynamic force that acts against an object moving through the air or another fluid. It also acts in the opposite direction of an object.
As the ________ of a moving fluid increases, its pressure decreases. Speed.
The ________ that attracts things toward the centre of large objects. force.
What is Newtons first law? Things want to keep doing what they are already doing.
What is Newtons Second law? Acceleration of an object depends on the mass of the object and the amount of force applied.
What is Newtons third law? For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
CanThin air hold up a plane? yes.
A ________ can hold up the plane with out any engines. Glider.
What are the four forces of the plane? Thrust, lift drag, and gravity.
What are the three properties of air? Air has mass, Air takes up space and Air exerts pressure.
what is bernoulli's principle? As the speed of a moving fluid (liquid or gas) increases, the pressure within the fluid decreases.
What are the vocabulary of flight? Flight, Gravity, Force, Drag, Lift, Thrust, Resistance and Glider.
What is Resistance? A force that pushes against something.
