Temperature and Conversion Scale
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Absolute Zero | The very limit of low temperature at which atoms and molecules contain no energy of motion. |
| Boiling Point | 212 degrees F or 100 degrees C |
| Celsius to Fahrenheit | degrees F = 9/5 (degrees C) + 32 |
| Centigrade Scale | Scale on which there are 100 units between the freezing point and the boiling point. |
| Fahrenheit to Celsius | degrees C = 5/9 (degree F - 32) |
| Freezing Point | 32 degrees F or 0 degrees C |
| Human Body Temperature | 98.7 F or 37 C |
| Kelvin Scale | The temperature in Celsius degrees which begins above absolute zero, 0 degrees K is therefore equal to the lowest limit of temperature. |
| Temperature | A measure of the velocity of the random motion of the atoms or molecules of a material. |
| Triple Point of Water | The temperature and pressure at which solid, liquid and water vapor coexist. |
| Zero-Point Energy | A system's or substance's nonthermal energy at absolute zero. |
