Analyze | To learn the nature and relationship of the parts of something by a close and careful examination |
Antagonist | Someone who offers opposition |
Argue | Present reasons to support one’s views |
Ascending | Sorting from smallest to largest; going up |
Compare | Examine and note the similarities or differences of |
Compute | Solve or find the answer |
Construct | To draw or create an image such as a geometric figure or graph |
Contrast | To compare two people or things to show how they are different |
Convert | A change in the form of a measurement, different units, without a change in the size or amount |
Convince | Make realize the truth or validity of something |
Demonstrate | To prove something by showing examples of it |
Descending | Sorting from largest to smallest; going down |
Describe | Tell what something looks like, sounds like, smells like, how it works |
Elaborate | Add details, as to an account or idea |
Environment | The totality of surrounding conditions |
Epilogue | A short speech by an actor at the end of a play |
Equivalent | Having the same value, amount, or measure |
Evaluate | To find the value of a numeric or algebraic expression |
Evidence | Tell why something is; proof; prove or disprove |

Similar | Figures that have the same shape, but not necessarily the same size |
Simile | A figure of speech expressing a resemblance between things |
Simplify | To change an equation, fraction, or other mathematical expression into its most basic form |
Summarize | To tell about the important things in your own words, using as few words as possible |
