Ergot Powerful uterine-stimulating agent, used to induce ;abor at the time of delivery & treat migraine headaches
Belladonna Manage peptic ulcers & dilates the pupils for eye examinations-Rapid heart rate, dryness of the mouth, dilated pupils, blurred vision, headache, fatigue, hallucinations & delirium & coma
Tetracyclines Antibiotic used to treat certain deadly forms of pneumonia
Strychnine Treatment of general weakness & malaise, constipation, mild paralysis, & other conditions in which the patient felt uncomfortable-Convulsive seizures, excruciating pain & death due to respiratory failure
Streptomycin Killed many of the bacteria that penicillin didn't kill including the microbe that caused tuberculosis
Quinine Reduces the fever & other symptoms associated with Malaria-Causes ringing in the ears, headache, nasuea, and disturbed vision
Phenytoin (Dilantin) Developed as a sedative & was soon found to have powerful antiseizure properties useful in the treatment of epilepsy
Cortisone Comes from adrenal glands of cattlePowerful anti-inflammatory compound used in the treatment of crippling arthritis
Penicillin Used for the first time in 1941 to treat infectious diseases
Digitalis FOXGLOVE PLANT Treats cardiac failure-Causes heart disturbances, vomiting, headaches, & blurred vision
