How many teachers are in the US? 3.5-4 million
What is the racial makeup of most teachers and their gender? White females
What is special education? A form of learning provided to students with exceptional needs
What is vocational education? A specific students learn in the classroom geared towards a certain job field
What is an example of an professional organization? National Education Association (NEA)
What is a professional organization? An organisation that helps you become a better professional
What is collaboration? Having students work together to help each other learn
What is a charter school? A publicly funded school established by teachers
What re some specialized areas of teaching? Art, music, and physical education
What are the 3 requirements are a highly qualified teacher? State certification, Bacholars degree and a masters degree
