Writing Workshop

Module 3 in 3352

TermDefinition
Writing Workshop An environment where students can acquire sequencing, spelling, rereading, and supporting big ideas, along with fluency, confidence, and desire to see themselves as writers.
Minilesson A short, focused lesson, often at the beginning of the workshop, designed to address an issue relevant to the community of writers in the classroom.
Writing Time The actual writing time the students have during the writing workshop. During this time, students work on writing projects set out by themselves.
Share Time A scheduled time during the workshop for the students to share their own writing with the whole class. The teacher coaches students on how to give and receive response to each other's writing.
