| Backstage view | view that opens when you click the file tab commands for managing files, setting program options |
| Command | button, list or other clickable option on ribbon |
| Dialog Box | box prompts additional information when executing a command |
| Drop Down Arrow | small downward pointing arrow next to some tools on the ribbon |
| Drop Down List | List that appears once a drop down arrow is clicked allowing you to chose from many options |
| File Tab | Tab on the ribbon that opens the backstage view |
| Group | Set of related tools on the ribbon |
| Dialog Box Launcher | Some command group on the ribbon its a small icon that opens a dialog box with your group |
| I Beam Pointer | mouse pointer when over a text box or editable text area, appearing as a curly capital... the insertion point noes to the spot |

| Slide Sorter View | View that displays all of a presentations slides in a single window suited for reorganizing slides |
| Tab | labeled section of the ribbon contains a group of related tools |
| Text Box | Container that holds text on a slide |
| Views | way in which presentation content can be displayed onscreen such as Normal View, Slide Sorter View, Slide Show View |
| Zoom | Amount of magnification used to show content onscreen higher the zoom the larger it get and it will get bigger bigger |
