| genre | A style or category of art, music, or literature. type or sort |
| objective | specific learning objectives outline what you are expected to learn from reading the chapter |
| prior knowledge | is knowledge the learner already has before they meet new information |
| criteria | a principle or standard by which something may be judged or decided |
| annotation | a note added by way of comment or explanation. highlight key ideas |
| misconception | a view or opinion that is incorrect because based on faulty thinking or understanding |
| predictive reading | skills the reader can predict or know in advance the most likely next word in a sentence or phrase before they read them |
| close reading | is thoughtful, critical analysis of a text that focuses on significant details or patterns in order to develop understanding in the text's form, meaning , craft, etc. |
| familiarize | to make known |
| context | words, sentences, and ideas that come before and after a word or phrase. |
| syllabus | a contract between the student and the professor that shows the class schedule, professors info, when homework is do etc... |

| certificate | a document issued to a person completing a course of study |
| transcript | shows grades and grade point average, your school, or previous school |
