Speed & Velocity
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Speed | the rate at which a distance is traveled |
| Velocity | the speed and direction of moving obejects |
| Acceleration | a change in velocity over time |
| Motion | a change in the position of an object compared to another object |
| Distance | the amount of space between one point and another |
| Force | an interaction between objects that causes a change to the objects' motion |
| Acceleration due to Gravity | the change in velocity caused by a gravitational force |
| Constant Speed | means that the object's speed does not change. Therefore, there is no acceleration, or decceleration. |
| Constant Velocity | occurs when an object moves from one location to another without a change in speed or direction (i.e. acceleration in all directions is 0). |
