| NATURAL GAS | It is used in gas-fired power stations and for heating |
| NUCLEAR ENERGY | It is produceed to generate electricity but it is very dangerous |
| RUDIMENTARY TECHNOLOGY | It is a technology inherited from artisanal manufacturing |
| TRADITIONAL INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY | It includes machines and tools that originated during the Industrial Revolutions |
| ADVANCED TECHONOLOGY | It is based on knowledge and innovation and some examples include robotics and microelectronics |
| HEAVY INDUSTRY | It consumes huge amounts of raw materials, capital, energy, labour and space |
| SEMI-HEAVY INDUSTRY | It uses products produced by the heavy industry to manufacture capital goods |
