| enmity | a feeling of hatred towards someone |
| scowl | an angry or disapproving expression on someone’s face |
| soberly | serious, and thinking or making you think carefully about things |
| complied | to do what you have to do or are asked to do |
| commotion | sudden noisy activity |
| nonsense | ideas, opinions, statements etc that are not true or that seem very stupid |
| exodus | a situation in which a lot of people leave a particular place at the same time |
| impressive | something that makes you admire it because it is very good, large, important etc |
| beaming | having a wide happy smile |
