| silver lining | used to say that there is something good even in a situation that seems very sad or difficult |
| prestigious | admired as one of the best and most important |
| pungent | having a strong taste or smell |
| vicariously | experienced by watching or reading about someone else doing something, rather than by doing it yourself |
| spontaneously | doing something in a way that has not been planned or organized, but happens by itself, or because you suddenly feel you want to do it |
| wailing | a long high sound, made by someone crying deeply or by an ambulance or police car |
| lamented | expressed feelings of great sadness about something |
| flustered | confused and nervous |
| ironic | a situation that is unusual or amusing because something strange happens, or the opposite of what is expected happens or is true |
| illumination | lighting provided by a lamp, light etc |
| coincidence | when two things happen at the same time, in the same place, or to the same people in a way that seems surprising or unusual |
| inhaled | breathed in air, smoke, or gas |
