Schedule IV Less abuse potential than III. Medical use. Refill regulations vary by state.
Examples of Schedule IV drugs diazepam (Valium), other benzodiazepines
Benzodiazepines class of drugs used to treat anxiety and insomnia; work by making GABA, the brain’s primary inhibitory transmitter, more effective
Schedule V Less abuse potential than IV. Medical use. May contain small amounts of narcotics.
Examples of Schedule V drugs Lomotil, Robitussin AC, Tussi-Organidin, Hycodan
Lomotil schedule V antidiarrheal that contains narcotic
Robitussin AC schedule V cough suppressant that contains codeine
