Infection

TermDefinition
Susceptible Host The organism that accepts the pathogen. The support of pathogen life and its reproduction depend on the degree of the hosts resistance.
Carrier Do not show any signs but are still able to transmit diseases.
Medical Asepsis Decreases the number of pathogens.
Surgical Asepsis Completely kills all microorganisms. ( Pathogens)
Nosocomial Infection ( Hospital acquired infection ) Refers to an infection that happens to a patient when a patient is receiving health care.
Host something or someone who is capable of becoming or are infected.
Contagious Something or somebody who can spread their pathogens to other people and can make them sick.
Epidemiology medicine that takes Control of diseases.
Quarantine A period of isolation where people stay that may be carrying or have infectious diseases.
