Organelles

TermDefinition
Nucleus The cell that controls activities of other cells.
Chromosome stringlike structure in a cell nucleus that carries information controlling all cells activities.
Cell Membrane A thin outer covering that holds a cell together.
Cytoplasm A clear jellylike material that fills the space between the cell membrane and the nucleus.
Mitochondria Organelles where food and oxygen react to release energy.
Vacuole Saclike organelle used for storing materials.
Endoplasmic Reticulum Organelles that transports materials inside the cell.
Ribosome Organelles that put together protiens for the cell.
cell wall non-living, material that acts like an outside skeleton for each plant cell.
chloroplast organelle that makes sugars while using carbon dioxide, water, and the energy from sunlight
