Where a place is. Location
The exact point a place is located, usually described in latitude and longitude. Absolute Location
Where a place is located in relationship to other places. Relative Location
Described by physical and human characteristics. Place
plants, animals, landforms, climate, bodies of water. Physcial Characteristics of a Place
cities, towns, governments & cultural traditions. Human Characteristics of a Place
A group of places that have physical, human or both kinds of characteristics in common. Region
How people are connected with and depend upon other regions, cultures, and people in the world. Movement
The positive and negative things that occur when people interact with their surroundings. Human-Environment Interaction
Everything that surrounds a person. Environment
People have changed their way of life to adjust to the natural resources around them. Adaptation
