Irony

Identify which of the three types of irony is being used.

You're giving a surprise birthday party for a friend, but she does't show up. Situational Irony
In the final Harry Potter book we know that Harry must kill Voldemort, but for that to happen Harry has to first die. Situational Irony

In 'Romeo and Juliet', the audience knows that Juliet is asleep, but Romeo does not and he kills himself. Dramatic Irony
In 'Beauty and the Beast', the audience knows that the Beast is a prince in the beginning of the tale, but Belle does not. Dramatic Irony
In 'Snow White', we know that the old woman with the apple is the Evil Queen, but Snow White does not. Dramatic Irony
You're watching a movie and you know that a character is the killer, but the other characters haven't figured it out. Dramatic Irony
