| Motion | When a distance between objects are changing. |
| Reference Point | A place or object used for comparison to determine if something is in motion |
| Distance | The length of a path between two points. |
| Displacement | The length and direction that an object has moved from its starting point. |
| Scalar | Without direction |
| Vector | A quantity that consist of both a magnitude and a direction |
| Speed | the rate at which someone or something is able to move or operate |
| Velocity | the speed of something in a given direction. |
| Acceleration | increase in the rate or speed of something. |
| Energy | The ability to do work or cause change |
| kinetic energy | Energy that an object has due to its motion |
| potential energy | stored energy that results from the position or shape of an object |
| gravitational energy | Potential energy related to an object's height |
| elastic energy | the energy of compressed or stretched objects |
| mechanical energy | Kinetic or potential energy associated with the motion or position of an object |
| conservation of energy | The rule energy cannot be created or destroyed |
| Work | Force exerted on an object that causes it to move |
