Distance | The length of a path between two points |
Displacement | The length and direction of a straight line between starting and ending points |
Vector | A measurable quantity that consists of both a magnitude and a direction |
Scalar | measurements that have magnitude, or size, only |
Speed | The distance an object travels in a cartain period of time without reguarding to direction |
Velocity | Speed in a given direction |
Acceleration | The rate at which velocity changes with time |
Energy | The ability to do work or cause change |
Kinetic Energy | Energy an object has due to its motion |
Potential Energy | Stored energy that results from the position or shape of an object |
Gravitational Energy | potenital energy related to an objects height |
Elastic Energy | the energy of stretched or compressed objects |
Mechanical Energy | An objects combined kinetic energy and potential energy |
Conservation of Energy | A principle stating that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but can be altered from one object to another |
Work | Force exerted on an object that causes it to move |
