Bacteria Single-celled organisms that lack a nucleus; prokaryotes
Flagellum A long, whiplike structure that helps a cell to move
Prokaryote An organism whose cells lack a nucleus and some other cell structures
Eukaryote An organism whose cells contain nuclei
Asexual Reproduction A reproduction process that involves one parent produces offspring that are identical to the parent
Binary Fission A form of asexual reproduction in which one cell divides to form two identical cells
Decomposer An organism that breaks down chemicals and returns important materials to soil and water
