Wedge A moving inclined plane with either one or two sloping sides. Force goes in 2 directions
Screw A incline plane wrapped around a cylinder
Pulley A grooved wheel with a rope running along the groove that can change the amount and/orthe direction of the force applied (effort force).

moveable pulley Pulley used to reduce the effort force.
Lever A long rigid bar that rests on and pivots around a support called a fulcrum.
Fulcrum the fixed point around which a lever pivots or rotates.
Wheel and Axle a shaft, called the axle, inserted through the middle of a wheel.
Gear a wheel with jagged edges like teeth around the rim
Compound Machine a device that combines two or more simple machines
Scissors [Energy Form] Example of 2 levers and 2 wedges, a form of incline plane.
