Top 10 Emergency Drugs

Atropine anti-spasmodic. (Stops muscle spasm.
calcium chloride Anhydrous. Primary ingredient in crack.
Cocaine Cut Talc, manitol, then they started cutting with baby laxative, epsom salt. Then they started using rat poison which is the primary ingredient in crack.
PCP Horse tranquilizer. Contains enough narcotic quality to put down a horse.
Anhydrous Primarily used in farming. Largest meth producer in the world until 2006. It is out in the boonies. People took anhgydrous out of the fields, made meth, and sold it to peo-ple on the highways and interstate.
Calcium chloride This is what they call anhydrous in the hospital. It is that big of a deal.
Dextrose Simple sugar. D5W-dextrose with 5% water.
diphenhydramine Benadryl-1st generation antihistamine. All 1st generation antihistamines are sedative hypnotics.
dopamine Neurotransmitter. It is founbd in your body. It is your happy chemical. Synthetically, dopamine is given for depression. Paxil raises the dopamine level--it is sometimes raised too much in some people.
Chemical imbalance. Almost anything that is considered a chemical imbalance cannot be WILLED into balance, and one can't pray it into balance.
epinephrine Will start heart. It is a huge vasodilator. It is a good drug for anaphylaxis.
ANAPHYLAXIS AN ACCUTE, SUDDEN, SEVERE, LIFE-THREATENING ALLERGIC REACTION. It is when your windpipe has closed down. If not stopped, one will die. Keep epipen and use if necessary.
Furosemide Lasix-diuretic. (It eliminates fluid.) Used for edema.
Hetastarch Synthetic plasma expander. Only used for emergent blood loss.
Lidocaine Local anesthetic. #1 use for it is sutures.
Novocaine Lidocaine with epinephrine.
Magnesium sulfate Epsom salt. (An analgesic, anti-inflammatory. Primary emergent use for mag sulfate is pre-eclampsia.
