What does the Deccan Plateau have? Raised area of level land, Hilly and arid and has a sparse population
What does the Coastal Plains have? Most dense population region, heavy seasonal rains, sea provides fish and highways for trade
What are Monsoons? Seasonal winds from the northwest bring hot dry air in winter
When do monsoons come around? In the summer winds from the southwest and gather moisture from the Indian ocean
Where did India get its name? Indus River
Where does most of our knowledge of India come from? The archaeological excavations of its leading cities
What did the majority of the Indus Civilization do? They were farmers
What was traded in Mesopotamian? Copper, Lumber, various luxury goods
