Point of view, Author's purpose

| assess | to try to find the importance or value of; to evaluate |
| author's purpose | the reason the author created the work |
| conflicting | disagreeing, contradictory, incompatible; being in conflict or opposition; it doesn't go together |
| effective | successful; |
| evidence | anything used to prove or disprove something |
| examination | close inspection; through evaluation |
| narrator | teller of a story; may or may not be a character involved in the action of the plot |
| objective | goal OR not influenced by opinion, instead representing facts |
| point of view | perspective from which something is told or considered |
| purpose | reason or plan that guides an action |
| respond | to answer or give a reply in some way |
| subjective | influenced by personal feelings or opinions |
| viewpoint | an opinion |
