Mixtures and Solutions - Investigation 1

Crystal The solid form of a material that can be identified by its natural shape or pattern.
Dissolving The process of a material becoming too small to see and mixed throughout the substance
Evaporation The process of a liquid turning to a gas
Mixture Two or more substances combined together
Property A characteristic of an object that can be observed, such as size, color, shape, or texture.
Solution A special mixture formed when one or more materials dissolves in another.
Solute A substance that dissolves in a solvent to form a solution. Example: The SALT in salt water.
Solvent A substance in which a solute dissolves to form a solution. Example: The WATER in salt water.

Mass Amount of matter contained in an object.
