Vocabulary words for Research Unit

TermDefinition
Bibliography An organized list of sources used in a research paper. It is organized alphabetically by the author's last name.
Plagiarism Representing someone else's words, either on purpose or through carelessness, as your own work.
Research Finding facts and information about a particular topic. Common places to find this information are books, newspapers, magazines, television programs, the internet, and reference books.
Research/Informational Writing Non-fiction writing based upon facts and information.
Thesis Statement A "power statement" that tells the reader what the research paper is about and why it is an important topic.
