Magnetism

Magnetism The projection and interaction of magnets
Magnetic Force a force exerted on an object traveling in a magnetic field.
3 Magnetic Poles The end of a magnetic objects that points either north or south
Electromagnetic Induction The creation of electric current when a magnet is moved inside the loop of a wire
Generator A device that converts mechanical to electrical energy
Alternating Current An electric current that reverses its direction at repeated intervals
Alternator generator used in a car
Direct Current An electric current flowing in one direction
Transformer A device that uses electromagnetic induction
Step up transformer Transformer that increases
Step Down Transformer Transformer that decreases
Electrical Motor A device that converts electrical to mechanical energy
Electromagnet a short magnet
Galvanometer A device that measures electric current
Magnetic field An area of magnetic force that surrounds magnetic objects
