QuestionAnswer
Hand and wrist has how many bones in each? 27
Most distal bones of the hand/wrist? how many? Phalanges, 14
2nd group of bones in hand/wrist? how many? metacarpals (palm), 5
third group of bones in hand/wrist? how many? carpals (wrist), 8.
Two beaklike process on ulna? Olecranon and coronoid process.
What process can be palpated on on the posterior aspect of elbow joint? Olecranon process.
What is the coronoid tubercle? Medial margin of he coronoid process, opposite the radial notch.
The large concave notch that articulates with the distal humerus? Trochlear notch.
What are the depression/s on the anterior side of the humerus? Coronoid (above trochlea) and radial fossa (above capitulum)
What are the depression/s on the posterior side of humerus? olecranon fossa.
What are the three concentric arcs of a True Lateral elbow? Trochlear sulcus, outer ridges of capitulum and trochlea, and trochlear notch of ulna.
During the act of pronation, what happens? Radius crosses over the ulna.
Radius is lateral or medial? lateral.
MCP of 1st-5th joints are what type? Ellipsoidal. (flex/extension, ab,add, circumduction)
CMC joint of thumb is? Sellar.
CMC joints of 2nd - 5th are? Plane/gliding
IP joints are? Ginglymus/hinge
Elbow joint, humeroulnar and humeroradial are what kind? Ginglymus
Proximal radioulnar joint is? Trochoidal (pivot)
Radiocarpal wrist joint type? Ellipsoidal
For AP projections of the elbow, Lateral rotation does what? Medial rotation does what? Lateral separates radius and ulna, medial superimposes.
What position is most "normal" for an elbow position? AP lateral (external) rotation is basically like setting your arm down palm up. Radius and ulna are separated.
In what position can you see the coronoid in profile? AP medial rotation of elbow.
Where do you center for for an AP proj of the thumb? First MCP joint
PA oblique whist, lateral rotation. What two carpal bones should be well visualized? Scaphoid and trapezium
What wrist projection/position is the ulnar head partially superimposed by the distal radius? PA oblique lateral rotation
What am I? Tubercle slightly superimposed by ulna, epicondyles in profile. AP elbow
What am I? Radial head neck and tuberosity free of superimposition. Lateral epicondyle in profile. AP oblique elbow, lateral rotation.
Lateral elbow rotation is best for visualizing ____ of humerus. Capitulum.
Medial elbow rotation is best for visualizing ______ of ulna and _____ of humerus in profile. Coronoid process and trochlea
In a lateral - lateromedial projection of the elbow, ____ is in profile. Olecranon process.
