| Energy | the ability to do work |
| Nuclear Energy | the energy produced from the bonding of atoms(fusion) or the breaking of atoms(fission) |
| Sound Energy | energy of vibration through matter |
| Electricity | energy released by the movement of electrons |
| Conduction | the transfer of heat from direct contact of two solid surfaces |
| Convection | the transfer of heat by the movement of gas or liquid |
| Radiation | transfer of energy through electromagnetic waves |
| Temperature | measurement of how hot or cold something is |
| Kinetic Theory of Matter | all matter is made up of particles that are constantly moving in random patterns |
| Law of Conservation of Energy | energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed from one type to another |
| Thermal Energy | heat energy |
| Mechanical Energy | energy of movement |
| Chemical Energy | energy stored in the bonds of atoms and molecules |
| Density | how tightly packed the particles are in an object |
| Mass | the amount of matter in an object- measured in grams |
| Speed | measure of how fast something is moving |
| Velocity | speed and direction |
| Acceleration | change in speed |
| Potential Energy | energy based on an object's position |
| Kinetic Energy | energy based on an object's motion |
