| proverb | a short saying that states a general truth or a piece of advice |

| language | communication using words (root = lingu) |
| multilingual | in or uses several languages |
| languorous | a pleasant feeling of tiredness; feeling dreamy |
| languish | to grow weak or to deteriorate |
| languid | slow and relaxed; sick, weak, frail, or delicate |
| veracity | accuracy; truthfulness |
| veracious | speaking or representing the truth |
| verity | a true principle of belief |
| voracity | excessive desire to eat |
| voracious | wanting or devouring great quantities of food; insatiable |
| virile/virtuous | manly; masculine; having strength and energy |
| virtuosity | great skill in music or art |
