TermDefinition
ferromagnetic element includes iron , nickel , and cobalt-elements that have an especially strong attraction to magnets.
magnet any object that attracts the metal iron
magnetic domain group of atoms whose magnetic fields point in the same direction.
magnetic force attraction or repulsion between magnets
magnetic material is strongly attracted to a magnet
magnetic pole place on a magnet where the force it exerts is the strongest.
permanent magnet keeps its magnetism after being removed from the magnetic field.
temporary magnet keeps its magnetism after being removed from the magnetic field.
electromagnet a magnet created by wrapping a current- carrying wire around a ferromagnetic core.
