Terms for Assessment

| Squishy | determine if alignment is rigorous or relaxed |
| Twist-slips | you can have a good curriculum, but can be effected by poor assessment |
| Clusters | group of standards |
| Domains | larger group of clusters of standards |
| Strands | content standards grouped under set of general labels |
| Subject-matter specialists | adore subject matters and would like to see standards master everything related to the subject |
| Subject-matter association | bring own set of standards and review them according to subject |
| Circumscribing | create and write standards |
| Cowpoke | a person who likes to mope around or goof around |
| Content delineation | teach right things by isolating content respective of the subject |
| Psychomotor assessments | focusing on motor skills, i.e. keyboarding, writing, skills in sports |
| Broad-scope | large grain size, made up of small scopes |
| Small-scope | small grain size, context clues |
| Subsumes | unfamiliar word meanings |
| Breadth | wholeness of the grains related to the curricular |
| Curriculum | end of instruction, changes in student's knowledge or skills from experience as a result of teaching |
| Instruction | describes means in attempt to promote achievement being sought |
| Coalescence | two or more items united or growing together to become one |
| Amalgam | mixture or blend or combination of substance |
| Prowess | skill or expertise in a particular activity or field |
| Careens | turned on side, moving sideways or unsteady |
| Disparate | very different "to separate or divide" unequal |
| Unequivocally | clear, without doubt, no confusion, ambiguous, easy to understand |
| Merriment | feeling of happiness, fun activities, excitement |
