Energy

QuestionAnswer
Electric Charge an object that has an excess amount o either positive or negative charges
Conductor a material that carries electrical current
Insulator A material that poorly conducts current.
Electric Force The force that charred materials or objects exert on each other
Electric Field the region around a charged object in which other charged objects
Electrical Potential Energy Potential energy of an object due to its position in a field
Cell a device that is a source of electric current because of a potential difference
Current the rate that electric charges move through a conductor
Resistance the measure of an object’s ability to conduct currents
Electric circuit The structures that provide paths through which electricity travels.
Schematic Diagram a graph representation of an electric current or apparatus, with standard devices.
Series a circuit in which the current only has one path.
Parallel a circuit in which the circuit can make more than one path
Electrical Energy Another term for electricity
Fuse An electrical device containing a metal strip that melts when current becomes too great.
Circuit breaker a device that protects a circuit from current overloads
Ohm’s law describes the mathematical relationship in most circuits
Law of conservation of energy energy can’t be created or destroyed
Static electricity a build up of either positive or negative charges
