Analgesic Pain relieving
Antipyretic Drugs that reduce elevated body temperature
Chronic Lasting a long time or marked by frequent recurrence.
Narcotic A medication that induces sleep or stops and alters mood and behavior.
Opiates Drugs devired form opium
Opivids A generat term referring to natural, synthetic, or endagenous morphine related substances.
Opivids/opeates Can interact with alcohol and cause repiratory depression.
Ex. of synthetic Analgesic: Fentanyl, Deneiol,Methadone
Semisynthetic Narcotics: Hydromorphine, Heroin, Oxymorphone, and Oxycodone.(Only Heroin is an ILLEGAL narcotic in the U.S. and is not used medically.
