TermDefinition
Organizational Structures The ways in which information text is put together.
Cause and Effect How something that happens effects something else.
Problem/Solution How an author identifies a problem and gives a possible solution.
Fact/Opinion How an author might use what they believe combined with provable data.
Compare/Contrast How one thing is similar to or different from something else.
Sequence of events How an author arranges the facts in order of time or importance.
Medium A method of communication.
Implict The idea is understood but not stated in the text.
Explicit The idea is stated in the text.
Inference What you know with what you read to draw a conclusion.
Objective Summary A brief restatement of the main points without using your opinion.
