Problem/Solution How an author identifies an issue and gives possible solutions
Fact/Opinion How an author might use what they believe combined with probable data
Compare and Contrast How one thing is similar to or different from something else
Sequence of Events How an author arranges the facts in order of time and importance

Explicit The idea stated in the text
Implicit The idea is understood but not stated in the text
Inference What you know with what you read to draw a conclusion
Objective Summary A brief restatement of the main points without using your opinion.
