| Motion | Distance from another object is changing |
| Reference Point | Place or object used for comparison to see if something is in motion |
| Distance | Length of the path between two points |
| Displacement | Length & direction that an object has moved from its starting point |
| Vector | Magnitude & direction of a motion |
| Speed | Distance objects travel per unit of time |
| Average speed | divide total distance traveled (d) the total time (t) |
| Instantaneous speed | Rate at which objects moving at a given instant in time |
| Velocity | Speed in a given direction |
| Slope | Steepness of a line on a graph |
| Acceleration | The rate at which velocity changes with time |
| Work | When an object is caused to move at a certain distance |
| Energy | The ability to do work or cause change |
| Kinetic Energy | The energy an object has due to it's motion |
| Potential Energy | Stored energy that results from the position or shape of an object |
| Gravitational Potential Energy | Potential energy related to an object's height |
| Elastic Potential Energy | Potential energy of object's that can be stretched or compressed |
| Mechanical Energy | Object combined kinetic energy and potential energy |
| Law of conservation of energy | When one form of energy is transformed to another, no energy is destroyed in the process |
