Sight terms

eyelids protect the eye & assist in its lubrication
conjunctiva blood-rich membrane between the eye & the eyelid.
lacrimal glands above each eye secrete tears
meibomian glands produce sebum
canalicula tear ducts; excess fluid drains into them
Eye layers sclera: outter layer, chorid: middle layer, third layer: retina
sclera white part of the eye
cornea transparent so the iris (color of the eye) and pupil (opening of the eye) are visable
chorid contains the blood vessels that nourish the entire eye
retina the lense focuses light rays on it.
rods & cones within the retina are responsible for visual reception
optic nerve within the retina transmits the nerve impulses to the brain for interpretation
