Solute | A substance that is being dissolved in a liquid. |
Solvent | The liquid that dissolves a substance. |
Magnetism | The property for some objects to attract iron or iron like material. |
Thermal Conductivity | The rate of a substance giving off heat. |
Electrical Conductivity | Describes how freely charges can move in material. |
Specific Heat | The amount of energy it takes for a substance to raise 1 kilogram of a substance by 1 degree Celsius. |
Characteristic Property | A characteristic that observes or measure matter without changing what it is made of. |
Melting point | Temperature at which a solid melts to become liquid. |
Boiling point | Temperature at which a liquid begins to make bubbles and steam. |
Freezing point | Temperature at which a liquid changes to a solid. |
Flammability | The ability of a substance to burn or ignite. |
Nonflammability | How a substance can not burn due to fire. |
Reactivity | The state or power to which an object can react. |
Chemical Change | The change of which can not be reversed. |
Physical Change | A characteristic that observes matter without changing what it's made of. |
Precipitate | 2 liquids combine to form cloudy solid particle. |
Electrolysis | A chemical change. |
